The STR belts is, regarding the structure, very similar to Type 1500: STRG/STRU. The STR belts however has, slit shaped holes through which the cross rods go. Besides, it has extra bar links at the sides, these serve for extra strengthening.
The belt is thereby made suitable for applications in which the belt should run in a curve. This belt can thereby also be used in a spiral tower.

  • – Longitunal pitch: 27,43 mm
  • – Lateral pitch: approximately. 8,5 / 12,7 / 25,4 mm
  • – “Turn ratio”: min 1,0 – max 2,2
  • – Measurements strip (H x B): 12,7 x 1,6 mm
  • – Cross rode wire: ø 4,9 mm
  • – Materials: 1.0304 (non processed or galvanized), 1.4301 (304), 1.4404 (316 L)
  • – Temperature range: cryogenic up to approximately 600 °C
  • – Range of the width of the belt: 150 mm up to 1250 mm

The STR belts are characterised by:

  • – Drive on the basis of a combination of sprockets wheels and friction on the drum
  • – The drum should rotate faster than the friction of the sprockets wheels (overdrive)
  • – Belt support: radius shaped strips (PE-100) under belt overlay of ca. 10 cm of the outer side of the belt
  • – To maximize the life span of the belt for spiral systems, the belt can be ‘flipped-over’’ which causes the inside to become the outside and vice versa.
  • – Tools are inflexible; not every combination of longitunal pitch/mesh/ eye link wire/cross rod wire is possible.

The Type 1400: STR belt finds, just as Type 1300: TRI-flex belt, its application in the food industry whereby food products are gradually cooled or heated. You could hereby think of processes as cooling, freezing, pasteurizing, smoking and cooking.
