The plate link belts arise due to a succession of bar links and filler rollers. These parts are connected to one another by means of cross rods which consists welding heads at the sides.
The filler bushes determine the passing range (matter of opening) of the belt.
De bar link belt is driven with special disc drums, also known as pulleys.
Take therefore a look at Type 1200T: SCH drive drums.
More info
- – Pitch: 50 / 50,8 / 75 / 130 / 150 mm
- – Opening: at least 16 mm (tpv drive discs)
- – Thickness of the bar link: 2 / 2,5 / 3 / 5 mm
- – Height of the bar link: 9 up to 25 mm
- – Cross rod wire: ø 5,0 / 7,0 / 8,0 / 12,0 mm
- – Materials: mostly combinations of heat resistant types such as 1.4541 / 1.4828 / 1.4845
- – Temperature range: ambient up to approximately 800 °C
- – Range of the width of the belt: infinite, since the belts are segmented
- – Possibility to implement special bar links in order for the products to lay stable
The SCH belts are characterised by: Drive on the basis of sprockets/drums; no chance on belt slip
- – Very straight belt run due to the positioning of drive drums
- – Extreme heavy loads are possible due to many bar links of heavy constructions
- – Support: strips in length direction under the rows of bar links
- – Large passing range from very closed to very open
- – The belt is often structured from multiple small belts which are placed next to each other. This is done since this belt consists of many components and because this belt is mostly used with high temperatures (> 500 °C)
- – In order to position the belt there is the possibility to apply special bar links, through which the product can’t start to roll
- – A longer life span can be realized, due to the robust structure of the belt. This is of course strongly dependent on the operational opportunities and the status of maintenance
- – Tools are inflexible; not every combination of longitunal pitch/lateral pitch/ spiral wire/cross rod wire is possible.
The plate link belt is extremely suitable for heavy loads in combination with high temperatures. Think for example of ovens for heavy products. Several explicit examples are:
– Belt in a transport run for cooling heavy castings.
– Belt in branch directed tunnel ovens for the purpose of preheating forged products
– Belt in a tempering furnace of coarse plate material in a rolling mill of a blast furnace complex
