Metal and plastic sprockets wheels are produced for the purpose of positively driven ladder belts. The ladders of the ladder belts fall in the grooves of the sprockets wheel. Depending on the application, wheels are provided of a bore, key way and tapped hole.
The sprockets wheels are, in addition to ‘’Type 800: STA’’, also suitable for ‘’Type 900: STA curved ladder belts’’.

The traction wheels for the ladder belts are produced by ourselves. We are therefore able to realize the sprockets wheels in almost all versions. The most important parameters in there are the amount of teeth (pitch circle), width, type of material, bore, whether or not a key way and whether or not a tapped hole (with set screw). There are certain recommendations to be made for these parameters;
- – Amount of teeth (pitch circle); recommended 8 up to 20
– Width; in conformity with customer specifications, at least 20 mm - – Materials: POM, PA6G, 1.4305, 1.4404, 1.0503
- – Bore: in conformity with customer specifications. Round bore is preferred
- – Key way: always (idle runners could possibly do without)
- – Tapped hole: to prevent the axle of getting damaged, it is preferred to secure the middle roller on the key way and not on the axle
The STA sprockets wheels, including the positively driven principle of the STA belts, are characterised by:
- – Drive on the basis of sprockets wheels; no chance on belt slip
- – The advice to take wheels with an as small as possible pitch circle (but at least 8 teeth)
- – The advice is to choose for a distance between the sprockets wheels of maximal 150 mm.
- – An as large as possible turned around angle of the belt, with respect to the sprocketss (>180°), is being preferred
Sprockets wheels are used when a Type 800: STA belt or a Type 900: STA curved ladder belt is deployed. The applications for this belt are thus similar:
– Cooling systems in for example bread & pastry industry
– Belt in filtering installations
– Conveyor belt in installations for baking, frying, grilling, etc.
– Washing systems
– Drying systems
