Type 150: CTB / WG-PA belts are driven by special developed sprockets wheels. These wheels consist of accurate positioned rows of teeth which exactly grip in the free space of the belt.
These sprockets are manufactured according to customer specifications, whereby the most common sprockets are kept in stock.

More info

The sprockets for the CTB belts are produced by ourselves. This means that we are able to realize the sprockets wheels in nearly all technical versions. The most important parameters in there are the amount of teeth (lateral circle), width, types of materials, bore, whether or not a keyway and whether or not a tapped hole (with set screw). There are certain recommendations to be made for these parameters;

  • – Amount of teeth (pitch circle); recommended maximum of 42 teeth
  • – Width; recommended width of maximal 5 teeth (so 5x the lateral pitch in mm)
  • – Types of material; common in POM and SS (1.4305 or 1.4404)
  • – Bore; in conformity with customer specifications. Round bore is preferred.
  • – Keyway; always (idle rollers could possibly do without)
  • – Tapped hole; only the middle roller may be secured axial. To prevent the axle of getting damaged, it is preferred to secure the middle roller on the key way and not on the axle.

The CTS / WG-PA sprockets, including the positively driven principle of the CTB/WG-Pa belts, are characterised by:

  • – Drive on the basis of sprockets; no chance on belt slip
  • – The advice is to solely secure the middle wheels on the axle. The other sprockets are then able to shift, according to the expansion of the belt, in the width direction.
  • – The advice is to ensure a distance between the sprockets wheels of approximately 100 mm
  • – The advice is to take wheels with an as small as possible pitch circle, and not wider than 5x the lateral pitch of the belt
  • – An as large as possible turned around angle of the belt, with respect to the sprockets (>180°), is being preferred

These sprockets are used, when a Type 150: CTB / WG-PA belt is used as positively driven belt. The applications for this belt are thus similar:

  • – Take- over installations just before or just after oven installations
  • – Drying systems of for example sachets, flasks, etc.
  • – Sterilisation tunnels in the pharmaceutical industry
