The drive with a drum is the most appropriate when talking about an equal drive of an eye link belt (OGB-L en OGB). A cylinder is in fact one wide gear that gets to every single eye of the belt.
A tube- or cage cylinder can be chosen. A tube drum or cage drum (1100B or 1100K is manufactured from a thick walled tube with on teeth on top. This causes the tube to be closed which means that no product can enter the drum.

The tube drums for eye link conveyor belts are designed and drawn by Tribelt. We work, for this production, already for several years together with regular partners. The most important parameters of tube drums are:
- – Drive- or idle drums
- – Amount of teeth
- – Load (thickness of the tube and shaft ends)
- – Width and division of compartments of the eye link wire conveyor belt
- – Details interface drum – installation (shaft ends)
- – Type(s) of material
The OGB(-L) tube drums are characterised by:
- – Very equal drive of the belt which ensures a longer life span of belt
- – Very hygienic since no residues of products can accumulate
- – Heavy loads are possible due to the intrinsic stiffness of the construction
- – Good positioning of the belt in installations
- – Only 1 part which prepares the shaft in one time
- – Due to the milled version there is no risk of losing strips
- – Drive drums should be executed with double shaft ends in order to enable the shaft to be turned
- – The usual version of idle drums is without teeth (there is free space for the bar links)
A tube drum variant can basically be used with every OGB(-L) application. The tube variant is often only being chosen when there is no other option concerning the hygiene aspect. This is the case since the cage drums are cost technically more interesting, The most common applications for tube drums are found in the food industry. Industrial ovens for bread & pastry sector are regularly carried out by these type of drums.
