Solar actually belongs to the ‘’Thermprocess’’ applications. Tribelt however, considers this as a major market. Years of development and optimization have taken care of the fact that we are currently the supplier of metal belts in this field. The cooperation between De Spiraal and Tribelt enabled us to come up with an unique belt concept. This concept makes sure that the production of solar cells can be optimized even further.

Tribelt has developed a concept whereby the ridges assembled in the belt, make sure that the contact surface between the conveyor belt and the solar cell is as small as possible. This provides advantages to the efficiency of the solar cell. Our sister company De Spiraal produces these special ridges from the exact same material as the belt is from. Tribelt then assembles the ridges into the belt.

The huge advantage of the assembled ridges is that no extra heat is transferred into the belt. This is first of all important since the warmth exerts an influence on the straight belt run. Second of all, welding connections could conk out after while when they have been influenced by external heat.

The position of the solar cell on the belt is crucial because of the cells that are automatically picked up at the end of the belt. The belt with assembled ridges has huge advantages in comparison with other belt concepts.

There are, despite the previous described advantages of the assembled ridges, still many installations that use other belt concepts. Whether it are ridges being welded, belts without ridges, belts with an U-hook finishing instead of a welded finish, there is almost no variant that Tribelt can’t manufacture.

Wire types of the material ‘’Werkstoff 2.4869’’ are, with regard to the metal conveyor belts, nearly always used in the solar branch.

This material is also known under the names “NiChroom 5 / NiCrV / NiCr8020 / 8020 / Chronix80”. The major reason for this choice is the wide range of applications concerning temperature. This material can still be used up to approximately 1150°C. It is therefore the best choice with regard to the aspect material price vs life span.

We have already supplied large amounts to the Solar branch for years. That’s also the reason why we have the most common wire thicknesses in stock. Since the standard delivery time for the wire of this material is at least 8 weeks, a delivery time of approximately 4 weeks for an entire belt including assembled ridges, should be acceptable.
